The Unanswered Questions On Vladimir Bidenov Death

Vladimir Bidenov was found lying unconscious in his room on the first floor with a few empty wine bottles around him in Raygada district, Odisha (India) . The doctors declared him dead after he was rushed to the district hospital. Vivekananda Sharma, superintendent of police of Rayagada later said that Bidenov died after suffering a heart stroke.

Circumstances of Vladimir Bidenov Sudden Death Explored

Four Russian Nationals Vladimir Bidenov (61), Pavel Antov (65), Natalia Pansasenko (44) and Mikhail Turov (64) had come to Odisha for vacation. They first travelled to Daringbadi and other parts in Kandhamal district. Later, they travelled to Rayagada and were staying at Sai International Hotel in the town. They were accompanied by an Indian tourist guide, Jitendra Singh, from Delhi.

Antov had reportedly come to Rayagada along with Bidenov and two other friends on tourist visas to celebrate his 66th birthday.

All the four Russian tourists had arrived in India on 19 Dec 2022 on a 15 days tour across tribal areas of Odisha and the north eastern States. From Delhi they flew to Bhubaneshwar for their Odisha tour.

The Russian group, including tour guide Jitendra Singh, arrived at Sai International Hotel in Rayagada town at around 4 p.m. on December 21, after spending the previous night at Daringbadi in Kandhamal district.

Antov Pavel and Vladimir Bidenov shared a room on the ground floor, while Turov and Panasenko checked into a separate room on the first floor. Later, Turov and Panasenko moved to another room on the ground floor, and the tour guide checked into a room on the second floor.

On the evening of December 22 around 9 p.m., Pavel found Bidenov lying unconscious in their room on the first floor. Pavel informed the hotel staff, and Vladimir Bidenov was rushed to the Rayagada district hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Initial investigations and the post-mortem report suggested that Vladimir Bidenov may have died of a heart attack, as he was heavily intoxicated at the time.

Vladimir’s son asked police to cremate his father at Rayagada itself, informing them and the Russian Embassy that he would be unable to reach the place.

Indian Police Investigation Into Vladimir Bidenov Death

The Odisha police’s crime branch inspected the ground where Vladimir Bidenov who died under mysterious circumstances was cremated.

A forensic team accompanied the crime branch sleuths to the cremation ground. The teams collected samples from the cremation ground which would be sent to forensic laboratories for further investigation.

The teams also took possession of the liquor bottles and glasses seized by the district police from the hotel room. Bidenov’s viscera sample were preserved and sent for further examination to Bhubaneswar.

The crime branch interrogated Russian couple – Pan Senko and Turvo , along with tour guide Jitendra Singh  who hails from Rajasthan in Bhubaneswar for 5 days.

The crime branch has not found any foul play behind the death, sources said, adding that the post-mortem reports had also ruled out suspicious death.

The post-mortem report of Bidenov mentions that he died of a suspected heart attack.

The crime branch teams have quizzed the other two Russian tourists, their guide, hotel staff, doctors who conducted the post-mortem and the cops who did the preliminary investigation.

Odisha Police detained Andrew Glagolev, another Russian who was seen begging at Bhubaneswar railway station.

For the last several days, Andrew was seen roaming near the Bhubaneswar railway station by holding the placard. Holding a placard in which he wrote, “I am a Russian refugee. I am against the war. I am against Putin. I am homeless. Please help me.”

Police upon further inquiry said that Andrew had arrived in India with a valid passport and visa. His tourist visa had expired . However, he has applied for Asylum to concerned authorities in the UN.

Vladimir Bidenov was cremated by police on December 24, 2022. Vladimir Bidenov was cremated Bidenov in the presence of three other Russians Pavel Antov (65), Natalia Pansasenko (44) and Mikhail Turov.
